Biography

Foster died by his own hand at the early age of 29 at a hotel in Piccadilly, leaving a letter saying that his friends had deserted him and that he was tired of life. During his short career he painted portraits. Foster was a frequent visitor to the studio of Joseph Nollekens and was a friend of Sir Thomas Lawrence.
