One of a set of eleven caricatures [see G0991-G1001] of the cast of "The Light that Failed", adapted by George Fleming from the novel by Rudyard Kipling, which was performed at the Lyric Theatre from 7th February 1903, and Drury Lane from 31st March 1913.
The caricatures are accompanied by a list of the cast (pencil on Garrick Club notepaper) [Gerald du Maurier does not appear on this list and was not part of the cast], and a letter from the artist to Mr Charles A Mills, dated 17th July 1903. [This has been placed in the library.]
