"This dressing glass formerly belonging to David Garrick and used by him at the theatre. I purchased it from Mr Withers my printer in Millbank Street Westminster, who had it in part of his lodgings from Mrs. Alsop, the actress, who received it as a present from her mother, Mrs. Jordon - who was said to have been presented with it by Garrick himself, but Mr. Withers made enquiries of old Mrs. Garrick, who informed him that the glass had been purchased by Mrs. Jordon at the sale of Garrick's effects. It has been in my possession now for about 7 years. January 14th 1826 John Green 33 Soho Square
