Provenance
Bequeathed to Donald Wolfit by Seymour Hicks, 1949, and presented to the Garrick Club by Lady Wolfit, 1968 [Gift 821]. Presumably returned at some point as they were presented by Sir Donald's children to a charity auction held at Sotheby's in 1991, organised by Sam Wannamaker to raise funds to build the new Globe theatre (Sotheby's 4 November 1991 Sale for the Shakespeare Globe Trust, lot21]; bought by Prof. Glynne Wickham, by whom presented to the Garrick Club, 1992 [Gift 949]
