This photographic postcard depicts the actresses Nannie Bennett, Christine Silver, Lena Ashwell, and Muriel Vox in the play "Diana of Dobson's". The play was first performed at the Kingsway theatre in 1908, and was an adaptation of Cecily Hamilton's novel of the same name. The novel is a romantic comedy, which centres around an Edwardian shopgirl called Diana, who unespectedly inherits £300. This postcard decpits the scene in Act one, which takes place in the dormitory Diana shares with other shopgirls, discussing her plans.
