Dated at end: 'Althorp, Jany. 11th. Garrick and his wife visited Althorp for the New Year in 1777-78 and 1778-79, but Garrick was very ill after the latter visit, so January 1778 is the more likely date. Garrick nicknamed More as 'Madam Nine', a reference to the nine muses.
