'Shad Thames / 12th January 1819 / Sir / I intend to do myself the pleasure of calling upon you at the Theatre on Thursday next when we trust you will be prepared to settle our account. ?? Brindley conceive that the credit you have taken has been sufficiently long and must positively have the money on Thursday having a long time to make up on that day your answer stating at what time I shall meet you will much oblige ... / .. Addressed: Mr Joseph Glossop / Coburg Theatre. In a bankruptcy case in 1833, Jabez Clinton Pelham of Shad Thames is identified as a Wharfinger. He apparently emigrated (from Rochester) to New York in 1851
