Graham Crowden's working copy of 'The Magistrate' by Sir Arthur Wing Pinero. The text is reproduced from the Samuel French edition of 1982. It is extensively annotated thoughout by Crowden and has jottings from a notes session on the rear blank. Laid into the script is a stapled cast and crew list, two pages of printed text to be inserted, two newspaper clippings - a production photograph and a William Hewison cartoon of the show. Crowden played Colonel Lukyn in the Chichester Festival production, which later transferred to the Savoy Theatre in London. The production for which this copy was used was first given at the Chichester Festival Theatre, October 1997.
