Biography
Collier was the son of a judge, Lord Monkswell. After Eton and study on the Continent, he worked for a time in the City. He attended the Slade School of Art and then specialized in portraiture and subject paintings. Collier was elected to the Garrick Club in 1872 and resigned seven years later in 1879.
