Biography
Harcourt was born in Dunbartonshire, Scotland. He studied for three years with Sir Hubert Herkomer and became a portrait and genre painter. He began exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1893 and was elected Academician in 1926. For much of his life he lived at Bushey in Hertfordshire.
