Biography

John Nixon was an amateur draughtsman as well as a merchant in Basinghall Street, London. For many years he was Secretary to the Beefsteak Club. He made a number of views of country seats which were engraved by William Watts. He also drew a large number of amusing caricatures, some of which he etched himself.
