Biography
Toft was born into a Staffordshire family of pottery and silver decorators, and he worked as a modeller in the Wedgewood Porcelain Factory. He studied at the Stoke School of Art and later was a pupil of Lanteri at the Royal College of Art. He pursued a career as sculptor and medallist, and he had many commissions for war memorials.
