Biography

A painter, illustrator, wood engraver and gallery curator, born in London in 1901 and younger sister of the painter Edmund Xavier Kapp (1890-1978). According to biographical information provided by the British Museum, she studied Studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, the Central School of Arts and Crafts and also in Paris. She exhibited at: the Royal Academy, Artists' International Assocation, the London Group and the Society of Wood Engravers. Through the British Council her work was shown at Nicholson's Gallery, Haifa, Israel. Director of the Wakefield City Art Gallery, 1951-61 and from 1961 until her retirement in 1967, Director of the Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Kendal. After retirement she lived in Leiston, Suffolk
