Biography

Frank Reynolds was born in London as the son of an artist. He studied at Heatherley’s Art School, and during the 1890s, he began to contribute to periodicals like Judy, Longbow, Pick-me-up and Playgoer. He was elected to the R.I. in 1903 and went on to draw for Illustrated London News and The Sketch. A contributor to Punch from 1906, Reynolds joined the staff in 1919 and, a year later, succeeded his brother-in-law, F.H. Townsend, as art editor, a post he retained until 1932.
