Biography
Russian actor initially was part of the Art and Literature Society group before joining the Moscow Art Theatre in 1898. He played a total of 66 roles for the Moscow Art Theatre and was the first to play some of tthe roles of Sorin in ‘The Seagull’, Serebryakov in ‘Uncle Vanya’ and Porozov in ‘The Three Sisters’. He also co-directed twenty three MAT productions and was vital in organising the scenery and stage designs.
