Biography

Moskvin was a Russian stage and film actor, director and teacher of drama. He studied drama at the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra from 1893–1896. He then joined the Yaoslavski and Korsh companies in Moscow before being invited by his former teacher Nemirovich-Danchenko to join the newly formed Moscow Arts Theatre. He appeared opposite Olga Knipper in the title role of Czar Fyodor Ivanovich. From 1919 to 1924 he toured Europe and The United States. He was a respected teacher at the Moscow Art Theatre and was eventually made director in 1942.
