Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy, known as Leo Tolstoy, was a Russian writer. He is best known for his novels ‘War and Peace’ (1869), ‘Anna Karenina’’ (1878) and Resurrection’ (1899). He also wrote short stories, novellas, plays and essays.
