Biography
Anglo-American painter. benjamin West was born in Pennsylvania. In August 1793 West Arrived in Englad and never returned back to America.In 1772 the King appointed West, Historical painter to the court. On Reynold's death in 1792 West became the Royal Acedmy's second President, and after brief interval in 1805 he was elected again in 1806 and served until his death.
