Sarah Jane Woolgar, English actress, daughter of an actor who trainer her hiimself and subsequently guided her whole career. Made her adult London debut at the Adelphi in 1843 after appearing as a child prodigy in the provinces. Married Alfred Mellon, a musician, in 1855. In 1867 she became manager of the Adelphi. W. J.
