Biography

Rose Leclercq was an actress daughter of Charles Clark (1796-1861), a pantomist and ballet master known as Leclercq. Rose Leclerque was born in Liverpool and appeared on stage for the first time at the age of six playing Ceres in The Tempest at Windsor Castle. She later played many roles in London at the Princess's Theatre, Drury Lane and London Lyceum, amongst others, working also with Henry Irving and Ellen Terry at The Haymarket Theatre.
