Charles Merewether, who is shown as No. 29 in O’Neil’s scene of Members in the Billiards Room, was elected to the Garrick Club in 1851 and died in 1880. No doubt he was related to Henry Allworth Merewether, below, perhaps as brother, son or nephew. (DNB)
