Merewether, Henry Allworth QC

Henry Allworth Merewether QC is shown as No. 27 in O’Neil’s scene of Members in the Billiards Room. He was the son of Henry Allworth Merewether (1780-1864), serjeant-at-law, who is noticed in the DNB. The younger Merewether was a recorder of devizes and a bencher of the Inner Temple. He became a member of the Garrick Club in 1864. A notation in the Roll of Members states he died in 1878, but the DNB gives 1877.
