Miss Emery wears a great bluish powdered wig with big curls falling over her right shoulder. Her blue-white dress has strands of pearls at the breast and is decorated with ears of corn at front. This miniature seems to have been copied from a photograph.
A protracted illness kept Winifred Emery from the stage between 1902 and 1905. Her only performances as Lady Teazle seem to have been at the Vaudeville Theatre in 1890. The play was perfomed 27 times from January 11. Cyril Maude, Winifred Emery's husband, played Joseph Surface.
