Hamlet has Tree's pale blue eyes, ginger hair, and florid complexion. He wears a fur-edged black doublet laced at the front, over a white with open collar. A large round miniature hangs from a gold chain round his neck.
Beerbohm Tree gave his first Hamlet in Manchester on 9 September 1891. His first London Hamlet was performed at the Haymarket on 21 January 1892, and was a great success.
