Sketch by Violet Manners, of the opening night of King Lear at the Lyceum Theatre 1892. Irving as Lear and Ellen Terry as Cordelia. Drawing consists of three vignettes depicting; Act 1, Scene 1: Lear disowning Cordelia; and two sketches of Act II Scene IV, depicting Lear on the throne, and lear standing up exclaiming. Sketches made for the Pall Mall gazette.
