According to Sinden's memoirs 'A Touch of the Memoirs' Jack and Winifred Keates were friends he made in his early years of acting at MESA. Jack Keates was the manager of Brighton Theatre Royal for twenty-eight years and Winifred was his wife and an actress and director. They became friends with Donald Sinden and were Godparents to his first born son. They amassed an archive of material relating to the Theatre Royal in Brighton.
