Commissioned and donated to the Garrick club by Mr Colin Nergych of New York in March 2020.
Paul Scofield played Martin Chuzzlewit in the BBC television drama in 1994. The drama was based on the 1844 novel by Charles Dickens and was adapted for screen by David Lodge and directed by Pedr James.The painting was commissioned in 2019 by Mr Nergych of Brooklyn and is based on a digital still image of Mr Scofield in character.
