Sketch, possibly from a sketch book showing various caricatures and studies of hand and arms. The main image depits a caricatarisation of justice holding a balance, one side has weights in, and other has group of people. There is, written at the bottom of the sketch 'Richard Doyle', though it is unclear whether this is in the artist's hand. Richard Doyle often used the monogram 'RD' with a small bird sitting on top, which was a reference to his nickname "Dickie", as in Dickie Bird. The sketch for Justice is very similar to a print made by Richard's father John HB Doyle, printed in 1839 by Alfred Ducote, published by Thomas Mclean, entitled 'The Balance of Power'.
