David Garrick; 1779 to Mrs Garrick; sold at the sale of “The Library, Splendid Books of Prints, Poetical and Historical Tracts of David Garrick, Esq.” Wednesday 23rd April 1823 at “The Poets’ Gallery” 39 Fleet Street (lot 1330), bought by Thomas Seaton Forman; William Henry Forman, and then by descent to Alexander Henry Browne of Callaly Castle; either bought privately or through Sotheby’s 1899 by Charles Fairfax Murray, by whom given to the Garrick Club, 7th June 1917
