Farnell teddy bear: sand coloured with painted glass eyes, stitched nose, and felt pads to paws and feet. Possibly an 'Alpha Bear'. Christopher Robin Milne was given an Alpha bear by his mother, Dorothy, when he was born, purchased from Harrods in 1921. The bear was named after a Canadian Black bear at London Zoo, Winifred, or Winnie for short. It is thought that Winnie the Farnell Alpha bear was the inspiration for Winnie-the-Pooh.
