Early19th century blue and white transfer printed mug or tankard, decorated in part with a scene depicting Garrick's villa at Hampton. The second half of the mug has been decorated with another scene depicting some timber buildings, possibly representing Shakespeare's birthplace. The image of Garrick's villa is based on a print c.1783, engraved by Medland after a painting by Metz.
