Bought by the Library January 1981
Ivory theatre token for the King's Theatre Haymarket. It is dated to 1793 and belonged to a Mr Barrymore, possibly Henry or Augustus Barrymore, brothers of the Earl of Barrymore. In 1783 the manager of the King's Theatre, Haymarket was permitted to sell forty-one boxes in the theatre at £1,000 each (the owner to retain the box until 1824 or 1835).
