A pair of rimmless pince-nez worn by Sir David Suchet when he played Lavrentiy Beria in the 1983 television comedy 'Red Monarch'. The film was directed by Jack Gold, and Colin Blackley as Stalin and David Threlfall as Vasily, who starred alongside David Suchet. The film was based on the series of essays called 'Red Monarch: scenes from the life of Stalin' by Yuri Krotov, a Russian dissident and former KGB agent. The glasses have been mounted onto hardboard with wire and the words "Beria's Glasses/ Red Monarch 82" has been inscribed in pen.
