A silver memoriam badge/plaque. Sir Henry Irving's profile is depicted surrounded by laurel leaves interwoven with a black enamelled ribbon containing the quote: " I go to meet my King. Becket". At the bottom of the medallion is a black enamelled plaque which reads: " In memoriam/Henry Irving".
The reverse has the following hallmarks: Anchor for Birmingham, Lion Passant for British Silver, and a date letter lower case 'f' for the year 1905 (the year Irving died). There are also the makers marks 'J.M', possibly for Joseph Moore, medalists working in Petsford street Birmingham in 1905.
