Burleigh ware toby jug in the shape of William Shakespeare, made c.1920. He holds a laurel wreath in one hand and a scroll in the other. On the back is a scroll which says: "ALL/ THE WOLDS/ A STAGE/ AND ALL THE/ MEN AND WOMEN/ MERELY PLAYERS".
Underneath is imprinted the signature of William Shakespeare, as well as the mark of Burleigh ware. There is also inscribed : "E. T. Bailey Sculpt".
