From the collections of Sir Laurence Olivier and Dame Joan Plowright. It was sold at auction on the 10th of December 2024, by Julien*s auctioneers, Beverly Hills, USA. It was purchased by member Derek Johns and kindly donated to the Garrick Club in January 2025.

An 18th century rapier and scabbard, owned by Sir Laurence Olivier, and was possibly owned by David Garrick. The blade is engraved with a floral design, the knop is faceted steel, the handle is wooden, and the fragile scabbard is made of velvet and wood with a scratched brass fixing.
