Framed, 18th century stage jewel formed of an oval medallion depicting Saint George and the Dragon, cut out of brass and painted, backed onto a blue silk lining. The order is surrounded by white paste jewels and is attached to a blue ribbon. The medal and ribbon are mounted in a frame on a now faded velvet backing. Below the medal is a gilt plaque reading: " the "GEORGE" worn by DAVID GARRICK as Richard III". The item was formerly in the collection of Sir Laurence Olivier and Dame Joan Plowright.
