Garrick is shown sitting down at a desk, facing the viewer, head resting on his hand which holds a quill, his wife standing behind him and leaning over right hand outstretched. There is a piece of paper and inkwell with a quill on the desk. The print is a copy of the picture in the Royal Collection, after William Hogarth, engraved by Herbert Bourne and published for the proprietors.
