This print depicts a portrait of the comedian John Liston as Dominie Sampson in Walter Scott's play 'Guy Mannering'. He is depicted full length, with arms outstretched. In one hand he holds his staff of office and hat, and in the other he holds an open book. He wears a black jacket and waistcoat, and a white cravat at his neck.
