Print depicting Madame Vestris by John Henry Robinson, c.1827. This is a working proof 'before letters' engraving of the 'La Rosa Parlante' portrait of Madame Vestris after Alfred Edward Chalon. This means it has been covered with pencilled highlights for work yet to be completed, particularly around the eyes, nose, mouth, sleeves and parts of her dress, bonnet and basket of flowers. Vestris is shown in three-quarter length, standing in a garden and looking slightly to her right. She wears a short-sleeve puff dress with an elaborate bonnet with flowers and on her right arm is a basket of flowers.
