Print depicting actor John Liston as Dominie Sampson, an eccentric schoolmaster from Sir Walter Scott's novel 'Guy Mannering'. Engraved by Thomas Woolnoth, after Thomas Charles Wageman. Published 1820 by Simpkin & Marshall, London. Liston is depicted half-length and facing the viewer, he wears a black jacket with overhanging white scarf and a black hat, he holds a book under his left arm and carries a letter knife in his right.
