Print of actresses Julia Harland and Mary Anne Conquest as Puck and Oberon from Act 2, Scene 2 of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' by William Shakespeare. Engraved by Joseph Kenny Meadows after a Daguerreotype by William Paine of Islington. They are both depicted full length and standing in a woodland backdrop. Harland on the left wears a one-shoulder knee-length dress over a short-sleeve top, tied together with a belt and a flower crown rests on her head. She is passing a small bunch of flowers to Conquest who is dressed in a tunic with embroidered collar and waist, draped cloth with star motifs, and a helmet. She holds a long spear in her left hand and gazes down towards Harland.
