Print depicting the actress Miss Phillips (Anna Maria Crouch) as Miranda in Act I, Scene I of William Shakespeare's 'The Tempest'. The character is shown in full-length, standing on a rocky ledge overlooking a turbulent sea and lightning in the distance. She wears a long flowing white dress with an arm and waist band, a feathered hat from which a checkered fabric trails and drapes over her left shoulder and then wraps round her front where it is held by her right hand.
