This photographic postcard depicts the actress Gertrude Elliott, an American actress, who married the actor manager Johnston Forbes Robertson in 1900. She stands with her right hand resting on a plinth, on which some books have been placed. The ribbon and bow on her dress have been hand tinted in in pink.
