This is photographic postcard, depicts Herbert Beerbohm Tree as Hamlet. He is shown wearing a dark hat with feathers, a dark cape and a fur trimmed tunic. He wears a silver belt with a dagger haging from it, and holds the skull of Yorick in one hand whilst gesturing to the skull with the other. Tree first performed Hamlet in Manchester in 1891, and then in London in 1892.
