This is photographic postcard, depicts Sarah Bernhardt and Mrs Patrick Campbell, as Pelleas and Melisande, which they performed together at the Vaudeville Theatre in 1904. The play was written by the Belgian playwwright, Maurice Maeterlinck, about the forbidden love of the title characters. It was first performed in 1893.
