Hand-coloured bromide photographic postcard depicting three portraits of Dame Gladys Cooper, seemingly not in character. On the left, she is in side profile, she wears a short-sleeved light blue dress, she is sitting with her hands clasped together and she looks down, away from the camera. In the middle oval, she wears a yellow blouse with pale yellow collar and looks directly at the camera. On the right, she is in side profile, she sits on a chair and holds a bunch of purple wildflowers, she wears a long-sleeved dark pink dress with green collar and she looks down, away from the camera. There is a white border of imprinted flowers, and the portraits are set in a black line border with yelllow roses and green leaves. The text 'MISS GLADYS COOPER' is set in a scroll.
The reverse has no message.

Gladys Cooper (1888-1971) was a celebrated actress of the stage and screen, with a career spanning seven decades. She was renowned for her beauty; she became a photographic model in the early 1900s and was famous for her appearance on many picture postcards of the time. Postcards were cheap and reliable and were bought not just to send messages but to keep as souvenirs.
