Cabinet card depicting actor-manager Cyril Maude by Alfred Ellis & Walery, London. Maude played the title role of Reverend Gavin Dishart in the 1897 stage adaptation of J.M. Barrie's "The Little Minister" in New York. Maude also managed the Theatre Royal, Haymarket during the play's London run in 1898. Maude is depicted in three-quarter length, seated on a brick wall reading a book, he wears a black double-breasted tailcoat with black trousers, white shirt, cravat and a white cane rests over his right leg.
