Cabinet card depicting the actor Wilson Barrett as Marcus Superbus in 'The Sign of the Cross', a Roman historical tragedy produced by Barrett in 1895. He is depicted in three-quarter length and standing to the right. He wears a long floral embroidered tunic with white cloth over the top half, bangles on both arms and a cap with a star ornament. His left hand holds a fur object to his hip and his right hand is clenched in a fist and rests on his right hip.
