Postcard depicting Sir Henry Irving as the Vicar Dr. Primrose and Miss Ellen Terry as Olivia, his daughter, in 'Olivia', the 1885 stage adaptation of Oliver Goldsmith's novel 'The Vicar of Wakefield' at the Lyceum Theatre, London. Irving is depicted sitting in a chair reading a book and Terry stands over him looking at the viewer. Irving wears a single-breasted jacket with buttons on the cuff, a white shirt, buttoned up waistcoat, and breeches. Terry wears a black dress with layered ruffles on the sleeves and neckline, a beaded necklace, and white lace gloves.
